TR5 Trophy English Wheeling

 It’s been a while since my last post. Studying for an exam (CFA Level 2) and life in general has gotten quite busy. However, I was able to find some time (and motivation) to get out to the shop this past weekend and try a practice fender on the English Wheel. In my last post ( TR5 Trophy Fender Buck ) I made a Wood Buck using the specs given to me by a friend, based on an original TR5 Fender. Now for the sheet metal… I cut out a piece of 18ga mild steel. As for the dimensions, the length was the the full length of the fender buck (I wasn’t sure of how long I wanted the fender to be) and the width was an inch wider than the finished fender, this would allow for trimming or perhaps rolling over an edge to give the fender more strength. I laid out lines approximately 1/2 inch apart from each end of the sheet. This allowed for me to easily track straight while using the English Wheel.
